Charles graduated from Indian River High School and received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Old Dominion University. Currently he serves as a trustee on the Intercollegiate Board at ODU and is an advisory board member on the Great Bridge Battlefield Foundation. In the past Charles has served as a board member for YMCA Greenbrier North and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He began his career as a Nigh Shift Supervisor for Engineering Media and moved on to managerial roles for Outer Banks Blueprint and Pro Blue. Since 1991, Charles has been Vice President at Hackworth where he oversees the day to day operations; manages the sales teams, vendor relationships and personnel and sets company policies.
Charles has “one hot wife and two super kids.” He attends Atlantic Shores Church where he taught Bible study for several years in both the children’s and middle school ministries. He love sports – especially basketball and coached for several years through YMCA, Chesapeake Parks & Recreation, and for the past 11 years at Greenbrier Christian Academy. He also coached USSSA baseball for 5 years with the Chesapeake Crush organization and loves college sports especially ODU basketball, football and baseball (Go Monarchs!). Charles enjoys the water whether its the pool, beach, jet ski, boating or swimming and loves to vacation and travel.
