Hackworth’s Color Department grand opening was covered in the City of Chesapeake’s 2011 Annual Report. The write up is found on page eight of the report and is part of the “South Norfolk Businesses Staying the Course” article.
HRI was honored to have Mayor Alan P. Krasnoff and the City of Chesapeake Department of Economic Development in attendance for the ribbon cutting event. Many great friends and cherished customers were able to attend, as well.
From the Annual Report:
Hackworth Reprographics, Inc., an imaging solutions and equipment provider, established itself in South Norfolk back in 1991. “The district’s central location made pick-ups and deliveries most convenient,” Dorothy Hackworth, CEO, explained.
In 2010, the small business expanded its product line, equipment acquisition, as well as its workforce, with growth and advancement of its graphics department. Hackworth is also a state-certified small, woman-owned company.
“The approximately-$300,000 investment has enabled the growing graphics department to work much more efficiently and quickly,” Hackworth said.
Of her company’s host district she added, “I’m a firm believer that South Norfolk is going to come back. It’s just a matter of time before people are going to realize what a gem it is.”
